I have absolutly no idea with flash, I have made a basic slideshow, but it already looks outdated, as im a real n00b
Would anyone be willing to make me a simple animated introduction, kind of an improvement on this:
www.bridgesltd.co.uk
I could email 5/6 photos, and it would be up to you have to make it animated.
Id ideally like something like this:
http://www.pilz.com/index.jsp

I could probably do that for you mate...
I could also make it read from external text files, so if you want to change the text or images you just change values in the text file, rather than having to edit the flash again?

^^ooh, that sounds interesting.
As I said, I really like the way the text/images come in differently, the font looks great too: http://www.pilz.com/index.jsp
The current one I made myself was only using Swishmax, which is ok for simple stuff, but I dont think its capable of doing what im after?
I will upload a zip file of images online in a sec...

Bare in mind, to get the effect your after, you need to upload pictures that are bigger than the actual flash bar you want to be shown... so they can scroll across etc.
The font in that one looks just a standardish font. Georgia or something.

hmm one thing you have to bear in mind is...
When you look at the one here http://www.pilz.com/index.jsp - the images being shown are 'quite cool' - with good contrasts of colours...
a zoomed in hand, a yellow sunset, a blue sky, a silver metal car, a black nighttime scene, a face, a white alpine setting, a black nighttime scene, etc
My point is, in the example you gave, the images being shown and fading in and out are all different, beautiful and interesting... Hence it works well.
When you do the same with the example pictures you've given us - you won't get the same 'wow' factor, as essentially the pictures are all samey and dull. For example a electric power box, another electric power box, a grey bit of metal, another grey bit of metal.
Your colour pallette for your images are essentaily, white and grey... So when they 'fade in and out' they'll not give a great impression of 'wow'.
I did some test examples and they just didn't look 'great'... I think you'd need to run the pictures through some filters and stuff to get a 'cooler' thing. Needs more 'arty style' shots, even if it is just of pipework and electic boxes.

when you say filter, do you mean to apply a colour overlay?
I do know exactly what you mean though.
The trouble is, the only photos I can ever get are from project managers who take photos out on site. The ones attached are the best of them really
Also, the other issue, is the hieght of the image, with only using 250px high, you dont see a great amount

You can use a filter when taking the photo to get a different effect, or, if you were paying someone to do this work for you you'd just let them be as if they were worth the time they'd sort it.
What you have on the site at the moment shows some pictures with good potential which could make something that would look good. If you've got a few macro shots, they are always good for this kind of thing.

yeh you could sort it / jazz it up, just a lot of effort to make it look good. Like polishing a turd
The making the flash do what you want is easy, making it look good is harder.

I could, just don't have the time to yet. I'm sure one of these whizz kids art crew would whip it up a lot easier. I just found as I was making it, I thought 'hmm this really looks shit' and so I couldn't be bothered to waste hours finishing it, for the end result to be pointless.
I've got about 3 things I'm juggling at the moment - time is tight.
