can some1 help plz, ive got the round metal bit off and ive lifted it up a bit but i cant get the container bit out, any help would be great as my car smells like a petrol station

i fitted a hole new tank the other day and i had toswap the pumps.if you;v got the round metal thingy off and then there is a nother metal bit gentle pull that up and there is all the wires and dtuff try to get your hand inside the tank and twist the pump and it should come out

yeah just twist it i didnt take note which way i done it but try both ways

You dont twist it at all,
lift up the rear seats and underlay carpet, prise plastic cap off with a screwdriver, then disconnect the plug that attachs to the round metal lid, after that tap the metal ring that is sat in the groove on the tank( use a hammer and screwdriver) un till it is loose, then yank the lid off an disconnect the pipes and wires from the undeneath of the lid, then your left with a plastic white cage surrounding, there sould be three push in clips around the out side of this, push them in at the same time and lift up, this should free the pump out of the tank, and the rest is easy, it mite be a bit fiddly tho like needing three hands the size of a dwarfs,

are you on about the the actual pump or the metal ring clip that secures the lid down or the pump

thanks mate ive had to break it off lol, now i need to try put the new 1 in is it the same method as taking it out?

its quite tricky getting a new one is you have to look at the hols and then tri an alline it

nice one mate ill have a bash tommorow there is 3 or 4 little clips at the bottom of the tank, do i just push the pump onto them or do i need to put it next to them then twist it onto them? thanks guys and yes im dense lol

try to get the clips in place then then twist it the oppersite way as you did to get it off

found out where the pump sits isnt bent so why wont it go in? any1 got pics etc the edge of the pump was sitting under the lip of the tank
