I just tried to register on seatcupra.net to enquire about Leon Cupra Rs, but ended up recieving this message...
quote: You have been banned for the following reason:
No reason was specified.
Date the ban will be lifted: Never
So, since i know a few people on here have had or still have Leon Cupras, i was wondering if any of you could shed some light on what to look out for when buying one.
If anyone on here is knows of a buyers guide, that would be very helpful.
Any info at all is appreciated
If it helps, its a 2004, 225 bhp model me and my dad are going to look at.

He mentioned one problem regarding the fans, but since his was pretty much trouble free, he doesn't know of any other problems.
Edit: He also said some Leons can suffer from wet carpets in the passenger footwell.

You using the same ip/network as your brothers login? That might be the reason for the instant ban. Was/is he a member on there?. You can always send Mark (m0rk) Mark@SEATCupra.net
You can still browse even as a guest for common issues.
Fans are one but you can check these when you look at the car and running the AC.
Water leaks are common but it's often a door seal that needs replacing. Easy fix again.
For a 2004 car I'd expect the cambelt to have been changed along with a replacement metal impeller pump. This can cost up to £350 so make sure it's been done recently and by a decent garage.
Rear wiper is prone to failure, either hose poping off in the winter or the spindle corroding. Easy fix again but a pain.
Check wheels and brembo caliper lacquer. Both are poorly done and prone to peeling. Brembo's are simple to refurb, wheels would be an excuse to sell or powder coat
Coil packs are also known to fail but you'd know driving the car. It will run like shit. Once one goes the others generally follow. Cost about £25-£35 each to replace (4).
Check all the window work up and down. Same ole VAG issue with plastic runners breaking. Can be replaced with a metal set on the carrier. Can cost £45 ish per door and some of your time to fix.
Can't think of anymore at the moment. Browse the forum

Cheers Allan, I'll bear all those points in mind.
Yeah, I can still browse, but I can't search for a buyers guide or anything like that.
Yeah, same ip as my brothers login, so that must be the problem.

Just added coilpacks.
As for the ip issue. That will be it:
All multiple logins are banned until you contact and explain via email.

Kinda. The mondeo is up for sale, so its replacing the mondeo once it goes, but it was bought with the money from the Insurance.
The new mk2 RS is going to be the real replacement for the mk1 RS.
Yeah, i've got a honda accord, but its nothing special. I'm trying to save up for a mk2 Escort.
