Has anyone had an sri that sounds as though the came is about to collapse ?

92k, recent service did no good.
sounds real cammy and rattly.
its not bottom end etc
definatley cam related how hard is it to replace one and would it cure?
getting on my tits now !

Possibly a blocked oil jet in the head? I had this on my X16XE engine and it made hell of a racket.

Probably a fudged hydraulic lifter, very common.

are you 100% sure it the cam,waterpumps go quite often on the 8v engines and sound very noisy.

do them on the 8vs all the time. we replace the cam and lifters and rockers. its usually a worn cam/ lifter thats the problem.

bout 90% sure its came related, ill have a fiddle at the weekend and see what i can come up with, hope it wont be to expensive to fix
