Wanting to remove the EGR from my car.
Is it just a case of slipping in a blanking plate where it bolts onto the head ?
And where can i get one, i remember someone selling them on here......

blanking it will only improve midrange engine response, and even then it will be barely noticeable.
The EGR is closed during Idle and WOT, so when people say it will improve idle, thats only if your current EGR valve is buggered and sticking. It's like chinese whispers in all fairness.

Thanks Paul, probably get it cheaper than that since i'm in the trade.
Just blanking it to try and get some gains from it.
Edit - that guide says its X14 & X16, is it the same for an X12....?

No it won't work at all on the X12XE due to differences with that engine.

The only real way to blank it on the X12XE is to get to the feed upstream, as the EGR also incorporates the return hose for the coolant feed, so just "Blanking" it off with a gasket plate will end up causing more hastle than its worth.
I'd just leave it to be honest unless it's actually playing up.
