My corsa has a boot spoiler on the back and it has a brake light in the middle of the spoiler, this brake light doesnt work. I was just wondering whether i would get pulled over for this, or fail a MOT because of it? The other 2 brake lights work.

Then yes it does, legal requirement. And in any case why would you want to take it off? So lorries can't see when your braking?

I didnt want to take it off, so that means i will need to rewire the light and make sure it works.

even if it looks like a light it has to work, my mates corsa failed an mot due to the fog light light button not lighting up when you press it, and it when i took it off it wasnt even supposed to be a light, and yes i know most models do light up lol

i always believed that as long as 2 of your 3 rear brake lights are working (if you have 3) then you wil pass an MOT fine.

my driving instructor told me that.

I was told that as long as your main brake lights are working then the 3rd brake light doesn't matter

If they have them. Its same as reverse lights. Dont HAVE to have them, but if you have them, they have to work.

you dont need the 3rd one to work because i had exactly the same problem on my 99 corsa and i asked the garage before the MOT and they said the third one is just seen as an accesorie so it went straight through the MOT

Dont need a centre brake light, think its only an advisory if its not working. Also reverse lights are not part of the test.
