It takes a lot to wind me up. But this was sufficient.
Called up the doctor's surgey this morning to get an appointment.
Next available appointment is in 13 days time.
Now what the fuck is the point in that? Most problems will either have got worse or gone away by that time.
Most people want a doctors appointment because there is something serious enough wrong with them that they feel it warrants a professional opinion or a prescription.
What an absolute fucking joke.
The end.

Can usually get seen if its serious.
Whenever I've been they have a sign up saying how many people never turned up for appointments, not sure if it ever gets updated though!

If it was that bad you'd go to the hospital to be fair.
Did you tell them it was an emergency? Mine is the same, but you can get in same day if you say that.

Feel your pain Busy people though
And....unfortunate to say but with people getting layed off left right and centre, they are going to their docs to claim medical benefits on top of job seekers etc

If you phone up as soon as they open and say you want one for today you will probably get one

Correct, the advanced 'bookings' will all be the old buggers going in to have their prescriptions topped up or whatever. Proper 'issues' should be booked in first thing in the morning and you will probably get something for that day

Depends on the doctor.
My old one was 2 weeks if you were lucky, as James said, total waste of time.
New one you can phone or go up that morning for that day or book in advance.
If you sit and wait all day you will probably get seen at some point though.

It's not an emergency by any means. I'd be happy to wait a few days, but 2 weeks is ridiculous.
This morning I called up 15 minutes after they opened and couldn't get one.
