Builder guy who is doing the work on our new shop has a wood burner in his house, he has taken enough wood out of that shop to last him a good 25yrs

you make as much heat cutting up and fetching the logs imo

mum and dad have a coal fire and yes it is great when there is plenty wood there that has been cut but when you need to cut it and make splinters etc or its rasining and miserable outside its a ball ache imo

great if you are getting the wood free and chopped into 8inch lenghts

the carpet is that much of a dark green it looks black sometimes, looks really light because of the number of flashes I used

to fit it we had to rip the old gas fire out, knock the wall out so it was the full size old chimney opening, tile it all, then I got up on the roof and changed the chimney pot for an open one instead of the pepper pot one we had, did a few tests to check it was pulling ok, then slid the stove in, there is a flue pipe on the stove that goes about 4ft up the chimney, just shoved a shit load of fibre glass wool up there then to seal it
