I had my laser eye surgery consultation today where they test to see if I am suitable to have it or not. And basically I am!

I've got to wait 6 months as they want to check that my left eye has stabilised but after that I'm good to go! Really suprised as I have a really bad presciption.

My contacts are something like -8.50 PWR!

It is quite expensive though but if I'm going to have near perfect vision I think its worth it! £1695 per eye for LASIK, Advanced CustuVue wavefront with intralase. This is at Optical Express.

Dead chuffed

is that just a one off payment or do you have to pay for after treatment/appointments and eye wash etc?

and do you still have to wear glasses for a period afterwards?

That includes all after care appointments and support for life according to them.

No glasses needed, just have the surgery done then thats it. There is another treatment called LASEK that you have to wear a lens for 4 days afterwards but thats more uncomfortable and takes longer to heal so I'd rather pay the extra

theres a really good flash demo about it here. Actually sounds really good.

Can I ask if you was with Optical Express before? Did you go in and tell them what was wrong with your eyes, or did you just take eye tests and told you what was wrong?

No I'd never dealt with Optical Express before this. My normal optician is Specsavers.

Thats a good video, not seen that one before! They described whats going to happen but its better seeing a video like that!

I haven't had it done yet but you shouldn't feel much, most people on here that have had it done have just said its uncomfortable. When they were doing the tests today they put eye drops in to numb my eye then stuck this thing in my eye to measure the thickness of the cornea... didn't feel a thing.

id definatly opt for the drops rather than a bloody needle going near my eye... what if the surgeon was to sneeze?

Im also with specsavers, but ive neglected to wear glasses for the last 6 years simply because I dont want to. Im really tempted to look at laser eye.

Do they offer finance payments?
