on a high reving engine or one thats been balanced properly then yes, but you would want the pullies all balancing.
they do look nice tho

Ditto. The pullies are so small that I'd have thought they wouldn't even need balancing, even it it was a high revving engine, tbh.
As broster kind of said, I'd have thought it was more for looks. I've got an alloy bottom pulley from Chris Astely - the only reason I got it was because it doesn't have the daft rubber insert the standard ones have. and it's a plus point that it comes able to be fitted with allen key bolts.

surely it needs to be balanced, even on idle its spinning at say 800times aminute.
if that aint balanced properly its not going to do any favours to your engine?

well im guessing its going to be balanced from the factory or who ever makes them the same as the standard pulley, otherwize it will eventually break up

im guessing if they are smaller they will make the alternator spin faster? is that not a bad thing?

They'd be balanced to a degree anyway. Done on a cnc out of billet they wont be far off. They do a type called underdrive which spins the alternator faster or slower cant remember off the top of my head. Thier is no gain its just a bolt on alloy replacement for the steel one. As broster said about the high rpm and balancing makes sense. Same sinario as balancing your wheels. The faster you go the worse its gets if not balanced. Its erm common sense. Ill stand corrected if im wrong though

I'd say the car would feel exactly the same to drive with them on compared to standards if that's what you're wondering.
