Heard fitting 288mm brakes can make the Corsa brakes feel spongy, and a mondeo? master cylinder is a good solution, is that right?

if so what sort of year mondeo?

(PS - is there a search button anywhere?).

They don't feel as solid as standard, but they still stop you a helluva lot better than standards with a couple of pumps of your right foot. I've got Veccy V6 brakes on mine, and braided hoses to go on (when I can get the unions split) - can see them making a difference. But I've never not been able to stop when I've wanted to before.

I've heard of people changing the MC over, but don't know how much/ if it helps.

I'm just about to put my Corsa on the road with the 288mm setup and braided hoses, I'm going to see how it feels and replace the MC for a mondeo one I picked up if they don't feel much cop.

I got the MC from a S reg 2.0 16V Mondeo. You will also need a Cavalier reservoir or similar and remote feed the brake fluid.

oh right, i assumed the mondeo reservoir was same way as corsa?

if i have to remote feed i might as well use a cav gsi m/s then?

I'm running the 1.7 Meriva 4 stud discs and V6 calipers.. Yes its a bit spongey but they work soooooo much better than the standard brakes.

Cavalier MC won't fit, The reason you need to remote feed the Mondeo MC is because on a Mondeo it's fitted horizontal as opposed to vertical on the Corsa, So fitting the the Mondeo MC and reservoir would mean the reservoir would be tilting back.

It's just a case of getting a couple of unions made up (i'll have to get pics of mine) and making a bracket for the reservoir then fit a length of pipe (x2).
