Just out of curiosity, im wondering how a Standard Corsa LET would perform against other cars in accelleration. none of this twisties pish. ive never been in a Corsa LET or really seen one go in real life.

Please dont state the obvious i.e it would beat a VTR

Experiences? discuss?

Thanks

Well i think a ph2 let has the same power to weight as a 911 turbo so a standard let aint gonna do to bad agaisnt cars with a bit less power.

Cars like ctr's etc wont even look like there moving compared.

Scooby WRX?
Evo 6?
S3?
M3?

i just dont want to spend money on a LET conversion and be disapointed tbh, what BHP would a PH2 LEt have?

Mike you wont be disapointed unless you buy a dog of an engine.

Ph2 is 280 bhp.

Standard evos, s3's i wouldn't even waste my petrol. M3 would be pretty close i think.

Off the line, not very well. Once you can get the power down it will shift.

Would trounce an s3 based on experience, cannot comment on the others.

m3 you would destroy after 60mph tbh.

In a straight line obv.

0-60 they arent great, but the in gear times are like bending the space time continuem tbh.

Handle scarily tho

Yup. Gearbox is geared for it, aerodynamics is the enemy. Nothing a bit of power wont sort.

Its still a hatchback designed to take 115bhp, it will bend it corners, it wont flow, it will understeer etc.

They can be made to handle for what they are. But they are still a 20yr old fwd hatchback with a heavy engine up front.

Thats not to say they arent great great fun (loved mine, going to build another) but dont kid yourself

I find that very hard to believe. I raced a 550bhp Skyline (spoke to him after) on my 636 and it was neck and neck the whole way.

depends on the rider really like, most of the bikes ive raced tend to back off when they hit 130ish, and relise your still there lol
but 130mph on a bike is scary, thats when my arse used to fall out aswel!!

I've had 160 out of mine on GPS and i had to double check it was about right with the gearbox etc

in a straight line i've raced
E46 M3
FQ 360
Porsche Carrera
numerous bikes
scoobys
Aston martin DB9

And not much gets away tbh, depending on the road etc. Some have been mates that i've raced that do drive their cars hard before the warriors start with the "i bet he wasn't giving it beans" talk.

bear in mind that these are not off the mark races this is mid range etc, corsa turbo wont corner like the cars above but it will reel them in on the straight

i had a play with a 990? the one with the gash rear brake light that was well 90's was a boggo carrera thing l reg IIRC.

Kept up with him no problems, and mine wasnt tuned, just had a larger FMIC which any corsa will have so for arguments sake "standard"
