That's not a bad price.

Alternatively, check out Autobrite, Elite Car Care and Clean your Car

I'd give one of them a go if it wasn't £50 for a plastic bottle with a nozzle on the top of it.

I've used a snow foam thing before at a mates work, I don't know if they are worth it TBH they are good for power hosing off dirt but if you use a sponge better results will be acheived I think.

To a certain extent, they are a bit of a gimmick. It also depends very much what product you use in them as to how effective they are. I only use a non caustic TFR or BiltHamber Autofoam through mine now, as I can do anything else I need to with my decent pressure washer.

I've got one, from CleanYourCar.co.uk and use PHNeutral Snow Foam.

Its great for when you have a really dirty car to bring the dirt off, I tend not to use it much as don't like to let the car get too dirty but great help in pre wash!

i dont have a large foam lance i only use the baby one you get with a karcher, but if you use the right product it is a very very good bit of kit, bilthamber is very very good i got put onto it by rich h and i got to admit its damn good, spray on leave to dwell for 5 minits pressure wash off and hay presto in most cases 80-90% was removed, then 2 bucket method and your laughing.

The idea is to snow foam, jet wash off after a few minutes and then wash as normal.

Can you not just use snow foam, rinse off and consider it job done?

In general, no. The people you see who can kind of get away with it are people who have insanely well maintained cars. The only other way of getting the results you want to obtain is to replace the snow foam with a TFR which I strongly advise against noobies (no offence!) using as it can cause far more harm than good if used incorrectly.

BiltHamber autofoam is about the closest you will get to achieving the results you're after, but you still need to keep the car very well waxed etc.

I use this one:

http://www.elitecarcare.co.uk/elite-heavy-duty-foam-lance-6-types-of-fitment-and-free-1l.php

I would personally pay the little bit more and buy that one, and the BH foam: http://www.elitecarcare.co.uk/autofoam.php?manufacturers_id=33

As it'll give better results than the AutoRaeChem stuff (imo )

Still suggest the same, it's just a case of finding the right fitting. IIRC, I read somewhere that the Halfords one is the same as Nilfisk / Alto. May want to email whoever you choose to buy from to confirm first tho.

Again, not sure of how things slot together on a Halfords pressure washer, but they screw / slot into the end of the main trigger gun, usually where you would fit the normal lance.

I've got a snow lance from cleanyourcar.co.uk, its not a perfect fit for the karcher but it does the job.
As said it will get the majority of the dirt off the car prior to contact washing which reduces the risk of swirl marks
