Would the biting point get closer to the floor or higher up in the air?
As the biting point of my clutch seems to be really close to the floor (about 5 inches) and I cant see anyway of making it higher as its a hydralic system

It will be the hydraulic clutch release in the gearbox leaking. Get underneath the car and see if you can see any fluid seeping from the bellhousing of the gearbox. Box out job to change it im affraid!

It's a box out job just to fit a clutch technically anyway.

could be going to the floor or going nearer to the top when clutch is going, depends what set up you have,
normally with hydro clutch you wont have any adjustment, can just bleed it to see if that will do.
select fith gear take it to 5 grand and dump the clutch! it should stall without hisitation! if not then you clutch is foooked

If you get the revs just right you can slip it into gear WITHOUT using the clutch. My gf's driving instructor told me that lol. Managed to do it once/twice feels strange cause your not using the clutch
