So 12 jobs in your company have been lost and your annoyed your not getting your rise?

So after they've laid people off, you still expect them to be giving out rises?

Some people just dont think....

3% of £40,000 is £1,200, which I guess gets taxed right? I would rather not have the payrise than loose my job to be honest.

ford laid off 100 or so of the people we work with then gave us our pay rise, why should we suffer just because they've laid others off? bills go up so should pay.

Most peoples rises are inline with inflation - now given its hit 0.27% at the last look and heading towards zero you shouldnt really be getting anything.

And to complain when the company has had to axe 12 jobs is just stupidity - hopefully they'll offer the others a payrise and to compensate that axe your job?

Actually no.. sorry.

I cant believe your being so blind?

We are in a similar position in our company, a number of people have been made redundant, and a number of departments have been told their jobs are at risk. Its a horrible thought.

Has it not occured to you that because of redudencies your going to be expected to do two peoples work? (or more in my case?).

Im sorry, but you have to weigh up doing more work for the same money (im now expecting a paycut this year, so more work for less money), against trying to find a new job?
I dont know where you work, if its Tescos or the likes, there might be an abundance of jobs, but with what I do, I know it will hard to find another job, paying half of what I do, so I will work more hours for less money if required

Our employees are being told to GTF this year - they are lucky to still be in a job considering 99% of retail is laying people off.

Wrighty, you should be very careful what you say at work, with an attitude like that, your going to be lining yourself up for the top of the hit list.
