Pros and cons of each please.
I have seen a very nice Charcoal one for about £150, but I can get a good gas one for the smae price.
Does a gas BBQ still taste like a BBQ or is it just an outdoor grill?

er theres pro's and con's to both.
gas is easier to clean when your finished as no ash and coal residue
dont have to wait to cook, turn it on cook straight away
its easier to change the heat as its regulated, lasts as long as you want it to.
however, the tase is no were near as good as a charcoal barby, you can't beat the smell and taste a real charcoal bbq brings, not to mention you can use different wood chips misquite (sp) and herbs over the coals to change the flavour ect.
charcoal takes time to set up though you have to wait for the coal to get warm enough before cooking, its harder to clean as there ash ect left over, and only lasts a set period of time, obviously adding more coal extends this.
depends on your prefrence really, i always go with charcoal, if you want to go with charcoal though theres no point spending a lot of money, it doesnt make to much of a difference, building your own brick bbq in the garden is always a great idea.

Charcoal is a total winner.
Barbeques are a social event so it doesn't matter about the half hour wait till its warmed up. More time for beers!

Gas = Glorified cooker for the garden
Charcoal = Real thing, Cannot be beaten. Better smell, Beter taste A real winner!
Gas bbq's are as usefull as a chocolate fire guard in my eyes. Just no point in them, Just a posh garden ornament to me!

Gas is quicker, less messy etc
Coal - arguably better tasting food. Fucking around with heating coals & cleaning them out can be a pain.
I use gas, its convinient to just whip out at a moments notice, & 2 mins later your cooking.
