I had an iphone before through that o2 scam where you bought it and unlocked it. However, I foolishly lost that while travelling, I really need a new phone now (as I lost my replacement for the iphone recently) - so need to know how to get a iphone legally.
Chris_UK was saying about the fact he ordered a reconditioned one for free and just pays £35 / month to o2 for 600 texts, 500 mins and unlimited data.
Is this the best way of doing it? how long will it take till I receive my phone and do I just do this through o2 site or any other ways?
Are there any better deals out there?
Are the free texts / mins / data for everything - or only like to o2 things... what happens if I go to europe? can I use those minutes or texts to phone people?

How'd you manage to get them free? Do you need to have an O2 contract beforehand?
Ebay + £20 Simplicity Tarrif is the usual way - works out roughly £660 in total (if you manage to get the 3G for 300, which is going rate on ebay).
Although if you can get an iPhone free then it'll save you 30 quid, although you have the choice of canceling the Simplicity tarrif anytime, which could be a bonus.

i doubt a lot will change between the 3G and the new one (still rumours). Eitherway, 24month contract is a little extreme. Paul, was the one Chris got an 18month contract?

I plan to look after this one, especially if i'm paying a lot of money for it.
The problem is, I don't have any phone at the moment. Jambo can I borrow a phone, doesn't have to be amazing, just need one to put my sim in and need a charger
Currently I'm using my mum's phone and she's seriously pissed off I haven't given it back yet.

who needs to send multimedia messages when you have free data to send it online... blue tooth = gay anyway.

Definite, it'll be announced at whatever the big show is around juneish I think.
There's references to what sort of hardware it'll use in the OS 3.0 stuff.

i beg to differ john, show me something that confirms a brand new iphone in june/july , only confirmation of 3.0, dont get me wrong the signs are similiar to last year when they fired out the 3g but as of yet theres no confirmation of a new iphone
ps, i hope there is im hanging off from replacing my broken one just incase there is a new one

It's just what apple do, perfect timing with them being given away free now(in multiple countries) and something in the 3.0 software references a broadcom wireless chip, bluetooth 2.1, 802.11n, fm transmitter.
It'll be out, it probably won't do much more than the current one, people will still pay loads for one.

- They need to sort the camera out imo... its the biggest weakness with the iphone.

unlikely they'll have a qwerty keyboard, just don't see the reasoning behind it.
And yeah, it's still rumours that there will be another iPhone - it's looking possible, but certainly nothing confirms it.
CORSA NUT - £660 is nothing, that includes the iPhone AND contract, you could spend that on a contract alone. And it does include Bluetooth, you just can't transfer files with it. And MMS support is coming in the next firmware 3.0. But you can download SwirlyMMS if you have a jailbroken phone, and have MMS now.

Apple are THE best at keeping products hidden until release so no-one will be able to say for sure that a new phone is coming but I think if you asked most people in around the industry they would say there is a new phone coming.
Not sure there will be a slideout querty - never heard that before and would expect that to be hard to work into the current design without making it much bigger. The rest is all really easily to slot into the current product. Apple have ordered a number of 3.2 and 5MP cameras. Its expected the 3.2 are going into the iPhone with the 5MP going into another device
