just was listening to Radio 1 News

the AA have announced they are concerned with young driver using nitrous oxide and supping up there cars to beyond there limits.....

i always go by the rule . . . if you give the fastest car in the world to someone sensible then its safe yet if you give an idiot a 1 litre fiat punto hell still manage to kill himself. its the drivers that need to be educated not the cars.

The thing that winds me up the most about this sort of thing, is that - they basically tarnish joy riders who have stolen a car, as the same as someone who has a modified car.

Today on the news it said...

'Modified cars are causing many accidents... In particular NOS is causing people to have wildly uncontrollable cars with way too much power... For example, last year 2 kids who were only 15 were killed when the car they had stolen crashed at high speed."

Erm, so... kids who are under age, no license, no insurance, nicked a car (not necisarily modified or with nos) and crashed it killing themselves.

Where's the relevance??

the woman they interviewed on radio 1 regarding this story is annoying me.

her son died in an accident in his modified car...
No mention of it being to do with nitros and more to the point its her sons bloody fault for 1) racing someone on the road and 2) donig 70+ in a 30

Yes there cars may have nitrous but the accident isnt caused because of it, they just happen to have it

It would be like saying steering wheels cause accidents, all the cars that have ever had accidents have them therefore they must be the cause

The thing everyone forgets about that is the fact that not once does Vin Diesel mention his feet are scraping on the floor when they're being pursued by police

police have said nothing when i was passenger in a stripped nova with a big bottle in the back. more worried about the cage.

Ridiculous for many reasons

1) firstly as said a load of the accidents have nothing to do with modifactaions.
2) the genral public are now led to belive that n2o kits give everyone an extra 200bhp even if its a 1.1 saxo
3) If a young person is going to drive like a tool they can have a fatal crash in a standard 1.0 corsa or a lambo

It's the annual news loop for things that are bad, this week it's Nos and Sunbeds (one for blokes, one for women) next week will be fags, or booze, probably booze with it being bank holiday weekend.
