Not as quick in a straight line maybe but a metro would piss the cav around a track. Go and by the latest CCC mag.

right, okay, some of you i think are refering to the SPi model (slow) and they also do a gti MPi which 0-60 is faster then an RST S2! And top speed is about 120mph, they ARE fast!

From parkers:-

CAR ENGINE BHP TOP SPEED 0 - 60 MPG

Rover 1.4 GTi 16v 4/1396 95 116 8.6 40.4
Vauxhall 2.0i SRi 4/1998 130 128 9.3 35.7

So the cav is faster top end but the metro whips it to 60 and handles better too.

A metro Gti nearly made me look very silly in my rallye, they are definately not slow. End of the day the metro is still one of the least desirable cars out there, theres a few with 1.8vvc engine transplants out there though.

Think the gta was made up from a load of parts that were left over from different models. They dont seem any where near as quick as the gti.

There are different versions of the gta. 8v spi, 16v (spi or mpi cant remember).

Mine was 1398cc 8v spi. 76bhp. Reved and kept reving. Reved to about 9k before the valves bounced. Stopped pullin at about 7.5k though.
Quick lil' car. But not compared to the gti 16v

the gti 16v mpi is quicker to 60 than 1.4 and 1.6 sports. Dunno abvout 1/4 mile times between the gti and 1.6 though

Dunno the figures for the 16v gta
