Hi All,
Ive just completed a head gasket job on an x14xe and all is well. Ticking over nicely and is running on all 4 cylinders.
However, its been running for over 30 mins and there is still steam coming from the exhaust?
Its been laid up for about 5 months so im thinking this will eventually clear and its not drinking any water that i know of?
Any advice as to what to expect would be great.

Its worth mentioning i had the head skimmed AND pressure tested to ensure it was immaculate when it went back on.
Water looks all okay and no water loss on the header tank.
Might just be me being paranoid but i aint too sure!
Anyone????

Water lying in the pipes and exhaust, run it for a bit, it'll be fine.

Just run it again and its all disappeared. I bought the car with the head gasket gone so i have no history as to how the previous owner treated it with a blown head gasket so was starting to think it was the block.
Anyway, all is well that ends well. Next stop MOT station!

Just run it again today for over an hour and a bit and the steam just keeps coming out!
Its been laid up for about 6 months at my house, and god knows how long at the previous owners so i dont know if it is like you say shep just water in the pipes hoses and exhaust.
One thing worth mentioning is its got a twin exit back box on it though which is a magnet for water to collect in.
I really need to drive it and find out but i cant as its got no mot or tax!
Someone who can shed some light please!!
