Currently running Eagle f1's and one is now illegal and i know there both a completely different tyre i've found a mate who can do me some R888's for silly money. Car is only really used on the road at night and weekends usually for traffic light battles and general fast road fun. If i go for the toyos though it'll be a waste of at least one goodyear because i'll obviously change both fronts. Any one got an opinion on both? How many miles can i expect from both?

fine in the wet till you get standing water, they aquaplane easily.
Ive run R888s on my old corsa and VX220 both on track and road.

i used r888s daily...
They're a great tyre. Stick so well.
However, the firmer side walls make a harsher ride and tram lines more. The tyres make a lot more road noise, like a 'whine' ... the guy who bought my car recently asked me if the gearbox was whining, but it was the tyres!
and finally watch out in the wet.

I run both f1's and r888's.
F1's are the everyday and wet tyres and r888's track and damp.
R888's imo would be pointless if your not going on a track etc. Road noise/tyre noise, stiff side Walls and useless in standing water will kind of make them unbearable on the road.
I would just stick with the f1's as they are a great compromise, good dry excellent wet.

I do agree with smc. However, my r888's were briliant on road too I put up with the negative things, so that I could have the car handling superb all the time.

You'll struggle to get f1's.. they seem to be gradually being phased out

Have you seen the tread pattern on an R888, you dont even need to ask if its going to be shit in the wet it might aswell have it written on the walls in white writing

Most of the people i've spoken to who run them have said they're fine in the wet as long as your carefull which you need to be anyway to a certain extent no matter what your rolling on.

At the end of the day they look cool as fuck but you wont really use them to their full potential on our shitty roads and during wet conditions you'll be competeing with pant-shitting under-steer.

I swear by Eagle F1's... Yoko Paradas are also quite good but not as good as the F1's in the wet.
Never used R888's.... they look mint though! Haha.

if your road using this car, and a bit of track or 1/4 mile use, the eagle f1's are great.
I ain't had 888's but as a road tyre, they will cost too much and run down too much.
