I knocked my phone off the couch yesterday, and it fell straight into a pint of juice!
I immediately took the battery out, and ran the phone under the tap for a good 30 seconds, stuck the phone on a heater for an hour, and after a few failed attempts, its alive!
Screen is ever so slightly patchy, but other that that its working fine!
Just a wee tip for ya there!

Nokia 6500 slide.
Run it under the tap to rinse any sticky juice off the boards inside.

It's fine to get most electronics wet as long as you don't try and turn it on before it's dry
Obviously if you drop it in the sea and leave it there then that's a different matter

Running it under a clean water should help get rid of all the corroding sugar that was in a pint of juice.
As long as the battery is out and it's dried of properly it shouldn't do anymore damage than has already been done.

take battery out
rise phone in distilled water
dry it out properly
clean battery (dont shorten the terminals)
put it all together
should work OK on most phones
water + phone = OK
water + battery + phone = Dead

I fried my v3 back in the day when I worked for maccy d's. Rinsed it in water and dried out and it did work again but couldn't get rid of the chip fat, in the screen, coating the outsides, everywhere and it stank

I had an old 6230 that I dropped into the sea. Fished it out, and carried on with the call. It was fine, except for vibrate not working.
