I am getting a Corsa B rolling shell in the next couple of days with EPAS fitted as standard, and doing a C20LET conversion on it.
What do you think of EPAS?
Is it speed sensitive?
Too heavy/light?
Any good for track use?
Does it make any problems with the conversion?
Cheers in advance

i personally think it is excellent. a major help when doing a xe/let conversion its just one wire and no pipes anywhere in the engine bay.
however i found it far to sensitive and light for track use.
i tried pulling the fuse when on track aswel and this only made it worse

cant say what its like on modifeid cars but as standard i think its shit , nasty feel etc but it would be good for a conversion as it means more room under the bonnet.

I mean it feels so damn heavy at slow speed it may as well not be there
feels alright on the C but a tad light at motorway speeds (never happy I know!)
the fluid PAS on my old B was perfect

It's the best steering setup for the Corsa I know that.
Dunno what it's like on track, but it was good around Reading Ring Road.

you have to run a wire from the rev counter wire to the green wire under the drivers side kick panel on the epas ecu

Oh wow, this sounds great LOL... too heavy at slow speed and too light at high speed.
I do like the idea of not having the pump hanging off the engine though (more room for FMIC pipes and oil cooler)
I'll give it a chance and if it's terrible then I'll look into perhaps getting some electrical wizardry to vary the current to the motor with road speed

you can buy "chipped" ecu's for it as its commonly used in rallying so it isnt too light for lowered cars or at higher speeds or something. ive read about it before. just cant find any of the links anymore.

Interestingly I just read on MIG that Giles (£30k Cav XE on TB's) uses this EPAS and loves it.

Reading a Spec list really doesn't do anything for me. Watching it go however would.

I'm glad this is getting good reviews as I've already ripped out my standard PAS
Going to get an entire car. The systems go for around 100-150. Only need to sell a few bits and you could be square on a stripper.

It should I think all 1.0 12v and 1.2 16v have them.
Was going to use an epas system on my rally car as the epas on my B sxi was not bad really a tad light but really not that bad at all. All epas are a bit vague its just the way it is.
