Such a shame, my dog regulally goes in rivers and I think nothing of it, I'd have done the same too as I suspect any dog owner would. It just goes to show you don't know when your time's up.

First thing I thought when I seen that was what a couple of idiots.
I've got a dog and I know what it would be like, if the dog is having trouble though you've got little chance, what you should really do is stay with your kid.

True, but I assume it's just like an reaction. If my dog was in trouble I'd be straight in without thinking.

Poor kid, I thought they were idiots when I heard it later, guess it was just reactions though.
But they've left a 10 month old kid to be raised it's Aunt/Uncle. Stupid. Should of had control of their dogs anyway

Couldn't agree more.
Just seen this on the news and thought exactly the same thing.

i think any dog owner, would barely think twice about their own personal safety sadly in the heat of the moment
its an horiffic thing to watch your own pet in trouble, i prob be in trying to save my dog
not very wise i know
very sad

that really is horrible I would have done the exact same thing though if one of my dogs fell in without even thinking about it. Such a shame for their daughter

"Her heroic partner" Give me a fuckin' break, he was pants at rescue missions.
Pair of imbeciles IMO for two reasons.....
- Diving in leaving their child to potentially do the same.
- Having a dog around with a toddler/infant in the house.

it's a tough one this. i would probably go in after the dogs in the same situation so i understand why she did. and i would definately go in after my wife although leaving the child unattended is madness. i'm sitting on the fence on this one.

I've got a dog i'm attached to and I wouldn't blindly jump in a river that even the dog can't swim in, that's just wreckless, the dog is a much better swimmer than me.

She obviously had no idea how dangerous the water was Surely she wouldn't have risked leaving her baby daughter without a mum for the sake of her dogs ?
