I had my Yellow Fever jab yesterday. It cost £65 + £7 something for the prescription at my local NHS surgery.
My girlfriend had hers today and it was about £40 at her local surgery.
Is this because this vaccination isnt covered on the NHS and therefore they surgerys etc can charge what they want?

Yes, its private medicine effectively.
The Vaccine itself, has negligible cost. But it's an extended service. As it doesn't cover the NHS remit of health care for population.
Of note though, as this is a private service, it doesn't have to be your own GP, you could contact any, and get a quote so to speak. i.e. you could have gone to your lass's.
As a side note, and a point of debate, you would get free, significantly more expensive to the NHS health care if you came back with yellow fever.
