to be honest you're still listening to tape packs of helter skelter

Eitherway, DubSteps main roots are with garage (and a little grime) rather than being a 'watered down version of DnB', although it does have similarities like using triplets and offbeats. But it's mainly club music, even then you need a serious PA system to pull DubStep off properly, as it's bass/kick-drum driven (usually 30-40Hz range, something you won't find in typical DnB) hence why it usually sounds cack on hifi systems.

That should give you broad spectrum of Dubstep

Oh and Roots Manuva is not Dub Step, nor is it music for greasy students lmao

Caspa remix of Deadmau5 - I Remeber is pretty decent, pretty relaxed to a lot of DubStep though (bit like Jokers - Stuck in the System).

Add to that list -

Joker
12th Planet
Balkansky
Spherix
Two Fingers
DJG
Cardopusher

Funny how they do a night called flexout here in lincoln which is dubstep and DnB. Ive not heard dubstep mixed with speed garage before. Its just aimed at students who want to be cool and go to something else other than artic monkeys, kings of leon, pidgeon police and any other student indie crap.

Is there nobody left that listens to music because it sounds good and not because it conforms to some definition ( not :google: as i previously had )

great, a local venue does a DnB and DubStep night so therefore it means Dubstep is the same just 'watered' down, nice one

like i said, Dubstep shares similarities (same as all of them - garage/grime/DnB/hiphop etc) but it isn't DnB slowed down with a few elements missing, it's got a little more to it than that.

Likewise, DnB can be said to be aimed at the 'greasy students' (technically, you'd find said greasy students at some hardcore slash metal cack night rather than any Dubstep night), it's certainly more popular with students than Dubstep (although dubstep is getting more popular in general).

Although, how the fuck you can compare indie bollocks to Dubstep/DnB is beyond me Yet to see any "indie" looking people at any Dubstep nights, tends to be the same people that go to the DnB nights.

p.s - i'm not slating DnB in anyway, it's what i grew up on along with Jungle, i just think you opinion is rather narrow minded.

Nah i just hate dubstep, if im paying money at a club i want to be hyped up and jumping about having a decent night. body popping to dubstep and migrane skanking to speed garage and grime does not interest me one bit lol
