X20XEV it should be.
If you have the engine lying around and want to put it in then do it if you have the means to. If not then personally I'd sell it on and buy a different one.

Why, it's newer, cheaper, quieter, looks more at home in the engine bay.
Fair enough it's power delivery isn't as "kick you in the back" aggressive as the XE and it'll be slightly slower on the road but it'll be alot of fun on the road

If you don't want 'kick you in the back' speed then don't get a 2.0 corsa. As Daveskater says, if you have the stuff there and it's going to cost you nothing then go for it. But if you need to spend money to do it, go for a c20xe. It's basically 20bhp extra for nothing and a good platform to start with tuning wise.
An x20xev is something like 130-135bhp, my c20xe with a cone filter and decat has been RR'd at 159.

if you have the bits lying arorund id say go for it, its a cheap 130bhp or there abouts, the block on the ecotec is basically the same as the block on the xe so you can use the same mounts to mount in in place.
