After my seeds didn't grow I decided to go buy one. I didn't expect them to have this many traps, I thought there would be just one big trap. There was a couple with flowers but hardly any traps and a few that had shoots instead of traps.

One I bought:

Currently residing in a 75 degree conservatory where it should find a few meaty snacks flying around!

Your parents were just trying to give you something that let you know how they felt when you were born

I got one of the grow your own fly traps last year and followed the instructions exactly, kept the soil moist etc and there was no growth what so ever. £2.50 wasted there!

This cost me £4.45!

Me and the GF got one last year. Think both started dieing within a month. Didnt catch any flies, and the flies we put in it, it seemed to do fuck all.

We also bought the seeds aswell and got nothing from them!

Whats the difference between the two mark?
I planted some seeds a few weeks back and im also feeding it rainwater. Its not sprouted yet though

Your ment to break off that flower at the top. Aparently, it consumes alot of energy trying to produce the flower/bloom when it should be concentrating its energy into the traps
