Basicly Ive just broke my digital camera and need a new one but might make the jump to slr?

Id like to spend no more than £200.00 but if you cant get a decent slr for that then might just get another digital?

So can you all post the name, spec, price of your camera along with a pik of what it can do (preff not resized by cs )

Thanks

One of the better ones I've taken lately, really like how it's come out. Nikon Coolpix S210, £100 ish.

That Nikon D40 look nice but I know nothing about cameras so i presume the Sigma 10-20 is a lense? I wouldnt wanna mess about with lenses etc at the beggining anyway just a good out of the box camera

Canon 400D with a 17-55mm F2.8 USM IS

I have had my camera for years and was £600+ when i bought it with kit lens. My lens im using now (above pics) was about £650. But i think you can get the 400D with 17-55 kit lens for about your budget now, this is with that setup-

Im no expert but in my opinion your best off just going round the shops and getting hold of a few cameras, see which you personally like best, in terms of what camera is the best for £200 the differences your going to see will be down to the operator, not the camera

Sure did, kit lens was no good for low light and not perfect for portraits. I got a 50mm prime but the clums autofocus bugs me, I used that particular range, 17-55mm, a hell of a lot so needed something decent

Its gone up in price now!

What about this

http://www.wilkinson.co.uk/store/product.php?productid=18117&cat=339&page=1#

What advantages does a digital slr have over that?

Faster Focusing, better Image quality, better high ISO performance, higher dynamic range, much better DOF (depth of field) depending on lens, optical viewfinder is night and day compared to a screen.

However if you just want a versatile camera that ticks all the boxes and your not to serious, it hits the mark.

Nikon D60

All DSLR's can produce STUNNING pictures its just the skill level of the person pressing the button that dictates the outcome! Rubbish in = Rubbish out!
