The D90 is the 50D equivilent.
I am seriously looking at getting a D90 now, the D60 is great but I think I have outgrown it

Are the Nikon's physically smaller?
I guess being a Canon bloke I just find it really hard to like Nikon's.

Dont be a gay fanboy. Canon and Nikon are both as good as each other, just depends what your used to. Look at the pros next time your at a major sporting event, its pretty much 50/50.

Really? I went to see Chelsea play Sunderland and there's a line of about 20 Canon togs, not a single Nikon! I'm presuming you mean something smaller like a motorsport event?
But yeah, you don't have to tell me... I know Nikon's are equally as good it's just like anything in life... Vauxhall vs. Ford, United vs. Liverpool and so on. I just remember using a Nikon and hated it then never looked back, but it's all swings and roundabouts.

Indeed mate, the same when i picked up a Canon Both top end cameras 1DmkIII and the D3 are insanely good cameras you would struggle to spilt them.
Oh and regards to the football your probably like me, i spot Nikons a mile off and notice them more. Its like when you buy a car, you start to notice more about!
Anyway as you say all swings and roundabouts and lets face it 90% is down to the photographer anyway. Ive seen very very shit shots from 1D and D3 owners and amazing shots from 50D and D80 owners.

thats why I didnt get one, It was either a brand new D90 or a 2nd hand D200, didnt fancy paying the extra when I have a dedicated video cam anyway, its a good Idea though

Its all preference. Size wise they are nearly identical, some canon/nikon equivalants can vary in weight though
