Therefore it cannot be taken seriously.

Watch Downfall instead.

Downfall is a wonderful film. The lad who plays Hitler is quite outstanding.

I don't mind Cruise as an actor in other films, but cast as an Wehrmacht officer with an American accent is downright ridiculous in this day and age.

lazy actors tbh, look at enemy at the gates. why did a russian farmer (?) turned sniper have a perfect english accent?

I'm surprised they didn’t try and at least put a German twang onto their speech (like in Schlinder's list I guess)...the American accent didn’t really do it for me

Just finished watching it. Thought it was brilliant.

Was a bit strange them having an american accent but didn't spoil it for me.

in interviews on promoting the film this was asked and there was talk that the introduction would be in German (Cruise is speaking that piece) and this would continue having a Engman/Gerish mix, simply adding German words into English (Nine for example in place of no) but it was decided it should either be 100% or implied, rather than faking it half way. to me it worked and didnt distract

i just felt nothing that exciting happened cruise planting the bomb was the highlight for me but still, accents were rubbish, guess its more storyline than action
