tbh if you're going into the trade you don't want to be buying the cheapest you can. Tools are something where you do get what you pay for.

Halfords have an offer at the moment, their industrial range is buy the cabinet get the top box FREE!
Its got a life time guarentee and is easilly as good as a snapon unit.
roller cab:

top box:

I was playing with one in my local store, I actually think the locking mechanism is better than the high end snap on's

I would advise getting a top box with smaller divided top drawers, they are bloody useful for arranging sockets.

Yes
Name one benefit of Snap-on over halfords professional/advanced other than "the brand".

Jaws of spanners? I've not got any halfords pro spanners that 'move' and I'm not sure what kind fo n00b would use an adjustable and if they did bend I'd take it back and get a replacement on the life time guarentee just like I would with snap-on only I didnt pay twice as much as the person who bought snap-on

It is far superior equipment. The edges of spanners, the increased grip from flank drive jaws, the list goes on.
I use mine on hgv stuff, where things are alot lot tighter, u will notice the diffo

Halfords tolbox will be fine, Its only storage. I have britool storage, id recommend FACOM though as one below snapon. All my stuff is FACOM and its all brilliant.
Snap on is good, but not worth the extra you pay for really.
