If I have funds pending, waiting to clear, can I still buy stuff with that or do I have to wait till it's cleared fully? I need to order something but I've been waiting fucking ages for a payment to clear, don't want to commit to buy if I can't pay straight away.

i would assume you need it cleared first

I thought that, but I thought as you can send someone money as a gift without having funds cleared that you would also be able to do this ?

Must be cleared first, else the bank could refuse the transaction and someone would end up out of pocket.

Oh, I'm talking about paypal by the way. I have funds waiting to clear in my paypal, not my bank. I should have made that more clear in my original post.

Oh right, not so sure about paypal but wouldn't have thought it would be any different to a regular bank?
