ive been doing a bit of research for tuning the head on my c16xe and i came across a page that said to use a x16xel head out of a mk4 astra. what will this actually do to my engine? my car is burning oil at the minute so im going to need 2 change my head etc soon to change my oil stem valve seals. do you think theres any point in gettin a x16xel head for my car?

I have a feeling the XEL head is the same as the XE1, its got the breather cast into the block and the water galleries are slightly different.. So I dont think if it would be compatible with the XE block.

on migweb it says its the better replacement head than the c16xe. whats the xe1 head?

XE1 is the small block 1.8.. The X16XEL looks the same to me.

just get the stem seals on yours done, cheaper, and the c16xe is a good head anyway

£400!! who quoted you that? the whole gasket set with stem seals in only £38, headbolts £12 and you might aswel get the head skimmed if its coming off and that about £20-35
will you be doing it yourself?

so you want him to take the engine apart do the head, put it back together and time back up? it ould be done the same day mind so you'd have to get someone to take you back to merthyr

my u2u's dont work on my computer at the moment just write in here.
i thought you mean just the head, it will be a bit more to take it all aprt and put it back together and time the engine back up
