Ive just renewed my insurance and i was quoted 760 quid with protected no claims bonus (this was an official insurance renewal cover summary which said "your renewal price is based on the above details)
Now i have rang up and she said the details have changed and that my insurance is going to be 830 quid to keep my protected no claims bonus (or 760 quid to drop my protected no claims bonus) instead of what was stated on the renewal form. So my insurance has actually gone up
Where do i stand do you think?

if you have your first quote in writing and it states everything then that counts as your insurance policy.

It says at the top of the form
"Car Insurance Renewal Cover Summary"
My details have stayed the same, they have changed the price since the form was sent to me and my insurance has gone up - even more than it was last year.

the searching different companys is rubbish - cause i got cheaper quotes from companys that had already been 'searched' on my behalf
best thing (although its a pain) is just to ring up as many as u can find

they wont slap you with anything if you threaten to take your custom elsewhere. although, if you check the fine print there's almost certain to be a "we reserve the right to generally fuck you over at any time" clause

RAC my search them but then they put commision on top. My ex girlfriends dad did the same thing with his own company, insurance broker.
Try http://www.liverpool-victoria.co.uk and get a quote direct from them.
If they sent you that letter then you just quopte what the letter says to them, if they dont believe you then send them a copy of it. Its a binding contract to give you the cover and all included when you pay the indicated price.
