I'm not being funny but shouldn't you have checked up all details on the country before you applied? Just to make sure it's what you want. Best of luck with it though, hope it goes well.

it is VERY expensive to live in Norway. The tax is very high too.
I've spent prob about half my time in the last 4 years in Norway.
Most folk speak better English than English yoofs. Girls are friendly, guys are fine. They all drink waaaay to much at the weekends.
Two words that will help you out.
VorSpiel - before party, normally what most folk do as it's so damn expensive.
NachSpiel - youve scored, or a party afterwords.
Where about are you moving?

oh.... and a sobering thought about cars...
Friend bought a Merc SL500 AMG thing.
He paid 30k for it in Germany, then 65k in taxes to drive/register it in Norway.
105k for a 30k car!!!!
Powerfull / heavy / polluting cars are very expensive. All cars are very exensive.
Eating out is very expensive - Think nothing of a £40 steak in a mediocore food chain (Big Horn Steak House).
A beer in a trendy pub/club will be about £7

Norway isnt in he EU but is in the EEA (European economic area)
Yes you can drive there on an english licence, however if you are permantly residing there you should "trade" your licence for a norwegian one.
Now in finland, you can trade like for like, as all catergories (i.e. Cars, PCV, Bike) are the same across EU now. So im not exactly sure on the rules for EEA countries, but id imagine its the same.

Surely it's not expensive to Norweigans though? And as this dude will be living like a Norweigan it'll work out?
I moan that Switzerland is pricey, but the Swiss get on with it.

yeah...
it would be a lovely place to live, and their wages are higher... but 'living' costs more, even when you factor in higher wages.
i.e you cant really go out most night of the week drinking and have a nice house / car unless you have a nice healthy wage.
being a bit judgemental - a welding apprenticeship doesnt sound like it would pay good money to start with.

Also Norwegian girls are
Anyone who has been to Magaluf and experienced Grabana Grus beach club will know
I would rather lose by a mile because i built my own car, than win by an inch because someone else built it for me.

I went to a Scandy club in Ayia Napa two years back. Me and my mate weren't really welcome though
