So they bid what they can afford, if its not enough then tough shit.
Some people are shockingly dumb, how can you not figure that out yet know how to work a computer and get on ebay in the first place

They should only be bidding what they can afford anyway . Some people should really keep off the net and go back to buying in shops and writing with pens.

it could mean the item doesnt go as high as it could
iff you tell someone the reserve is 100 and the only want to spend 80 then they wont bid mean that the only other bidder will still have his bid at say 99p

That's the whole point in having a reserve, you don't tell them so they bid to what they can afford A mungo is a slow, rather retarded person. No offence Mr G, it was in jest.

I dont put reserves on (you get charged extra) i just get a mate to whack my reserve bid in.
If it doesn't go above that, i go on his account and cancel the transaction.

id just tell them, if youre selling it for 500 and they only budget for 450, and they know the reserve they might be willing to bid higher.

Tell you whats worse than Ebay.. PAYPAL
Rip off merchants!
I've just sold my DSLR, let it go for £250 + £15 posted.. So fella sends me £265, paypa decide they want £10 of that.. So i've got £5 to post the item or i lose out on money..
Guess what else, they're holding the money until the fella leaves me feedback or 21days passes.. I need the money NOW! Morons.

new message from them, ok but if i am the only person interested and i bid £5 under then I wouldnt get it. Even if you told me Im not going to broad cast it across ebay so it doesnt sell for more!
and i dont want to tell them the reserve, their is a buy it now price on there aswell so if they were that interested they would just use that

tbf i really dont see what the problem is, especially if there is a buy it now, what possible harm could telling one person your reserve do?
i never get why people are so secretive about them, its just a price thats set so you dont lose to much money, telling them your reserve is basically just telling them the market value of your item, dont see why you have a problem tbh.

I agree with your buyer TBH... If he is telling you he wants the item but can't afford it until 10 days time then what's the problem with that? Even if he won the item, didn't contact or pay you for it you would not be able to file a non paying bidder claim until it's been at least 7 days.
