I've got mine on Wednesday, now I've been told 8.30am until 5pm.

I'm not being funny, but am I really going to need that long? Ok if I was a a 16 year old riding his first moped with no experience of the road.

Last time I done mine in 1998 I was quoted that amount of time but by 2pm the bloke said he was satisfed I was capable enough to be on the road and gave me the certificate and let me get on my way.

If it's until 5pm it's going to be seriously tedious.

Usually finished by about 2 but if your in a large group it will take longer. its usually an hour in the carpark doing manouvres, 30 mins in the office talking about road safety then an hour or 2 on the road followed by an instructor.

Mine took the full day because of folk that really shouldnt have been allowed on the road. If it was 1 on 1 then yeh maybe a bit shorter but you have to go at the pace of the goons..

Last time there were 2 of us, an older guy and myself.

I pray that it's just me on Wednesday, I'm not spending all f-ing day driving around cones because some remedial can't even hold their scooter upright.

9-12 will be riding around in yard. and showing what everything does i.e brakes, gears etc and practicing maneuvers.

Then u will road ride for the rest of the day and do maneuvers properly on the road .

One down, 5/4 up, clutch on the left, front brake on right.

Push down left foot for first, release clutch while raising revs and then wheelie, fall off the back and the bike ends up in the fence.

Luckily when I did mine all the people had done CBT's before except me. I do have a car license though and have riden plenty of geared off road bikes before so we were done for about 1.30pm.

If anything when I did my CBT, the spotty ned doing it on a scooter took longer than us folk on the geared ones, but he was a cock.

Gears are easy unless your mums name is Darlene...

I can do gears in my sleep, but I'm doing it on the scooter to save myself £20 hiring out their bikes.
