right, ive been looking at swapping my saxo for an xe corsa but now me and a mate have decided to just build one between us.
not bothered about luxuries or what it looks like. its being stripped to get it as lightweight as possible in time for some strip action at pod next summer.

i was thinking specifically about engine mounts. just put a vts engine in my vtr but never had a good look in a corsa bay, from what i can tell theyre more complex than saxo's with different mounts for different valved engines and with or without pas?

1.0's are probably the more difficult ones to do. The old 1.2 and 1.4 8v's require the most simple conversion kit and the wiring is all in the right place for hooking up the new ECU.

If you want PAS, ditch the hydraulic setup and use EPAS from a newer model too...

Only thing with with older shells... (reg before R plate) is the B-pillars crack. Thats sorted on a face lift model. Also.. the issue with a sun roof... doesn't effect the car in anyway but will effect you if you compete. most peeps who race on track weld them up if they have one. depends what your doing with it

it was solved on most as it was a known fault by vauxhall. Ive had 3 face lift models, 2 with LET's in and never had one crack yet

you could get them welded up mate. that would be stronger than a face lift model.. just make sure it looks spot on when its done

dotn matter what shell you get really, just get a 16v dash loom and wack it in, easier to wire engine up and include fogs ect

Could probably even do the conversion for you too if you wanted that one. It needs paintwork too really as it's pretty tired...
