can i use any wire to earth the cig lighter or does it have to be special earth wire .

its the same as normal wire. as long as its big enough to take the current its fine.

well it is just 12 volts neons runin from cig lighter ,so could i use the wire which used to goto the interior light

might be worth using slightly thicker wire incase you want to run anything else in future

and I think a cig lighter will pull more amps then a bulb

Use 2.5mm to 4 mm tri-rated cable and youll be ok - a bulb on a 12v DC supply will pull approx 1 amp whereas depending on the wattage of the fag lighter it will pull roughly 15-20 amps i would have thought which equates to a 2.5mm minimum earth cable.

it dont matter wot type of wire you use aslong as you tie it 2 ur shoe lace.
