i am thinking of renewing my suspension, i want something so i can adjust the ride height from 30mm to about 40/50mm.
the reason for this is becausethe council round my area is starting to put speed ramps and also so i can get my car serviced (onto the ramp)
does anyone know what would be better and who to contact to get it done.
i am up in scotland, near edinburgh if that helps

Coilovers are a lot cheaper. But Coilovers are also best for handling. Hydraulics are crap for ride quality. Only difference other than that is that hydraulics can be adjusted whilst you are driving, but coilovers have to be adjusted with the car jacked up etc.

my girlfriends getting hydraulics on her mk4 polo in april. she's getting the juice ones, so all four corners will be independant. some serious fun.

but how would u adjust the rear if u had coilovers?
i heard some coliovers can be adjusted from the top ie, in the engine bay, is this trye, if so who makes them?

i think some coilovers for the corsa only have front height adjustable.

coilovers for performance, hydraulics for looks. personally If you only want to go 30-40mm get some normal springs n shocks it'll save you a whole load of cash. When service time comes carry some blocks of wood with you and drive onto them. coilovers lower 70 -100mm usually, hyldralics lower well how low do you want to go>

if you want to go regularly from 30 to 40 mm and change often then you need the hydraulics for the easy option.

But how often do you really change the ride height??
When it comes to MOT or time to put it on a ramp you just tell the garage to get something to help you on without scrapping.

its not just the mot, its speed bumps as the local council has decidied to put them all on my street and they will be no way i get can across them.
