Is this right?



Was never like this until i had my timing belt and oil pump done earlier in the week.

thats deffo squint :/ is that for power steering? I only had one for my alternator, but it's prob just the pump/bracket needs moved?

yeah i am using the twin v belt for the power steering.

As i said wasnt like that before

try moving the power steering pump, they would of removed it to replace the belt surely?

Doesn't look too far off, when i had the pump on i remember it going like that, just moved it.

not talking about that kev that is fine. If you look at the timing belt cover you can now see into the bottom crankshaft pulley.

yeah, it also makes a horrible rough noise now aswell when the car is reved a wee bit

going to take it back first thing in the morning mate. It was a pal who is a vauxhall mechanic that done the work.

Hopefully a quick fix

thats definitely not on properly. has the main crank pulley bolt been out recently? get it checked to make sure its tight. if that comes off bye bye valves etc.

looks like that havnt lined the keys up on the crank, bet that pulley wobbles!

could be the covers isnt on right .. ie if the rubber bushes have fallen out or somthing?

all of them are there i have checked.

Rubber spacers, then washers and then the bolts.

it only goes on one way the bottom pulley. wonder if they have done it wrong and not put enough bolts in or something?

Found out today that the timing belt tensioner kept slackening off somehow. The bolt kept coming loose. It was put back together and when turned over the bolt would slacken off. Tried a new bolt at first but the same thing happened.

so have ordered a new tensioner today and will be here tommorrow. Lets hope it goes ok

looks like the bottom pulley is pissed not the tensioner! take of the pulley see what damage has been caused if none then relocate on woodruff key

thay already done that but when they went to re do the tensioner it went it broke.

sometimes the covers make it impossible to say if it looks straight or not. if anything, to me it looks exactly the same. same kinda angle on the belts as before.

yeah but the gap between the cover and pulley has been greatly decreased.

its more a case of wether the pulley and the belts are straight. ignore the cover altogehter.

the alternator one deffo looks straight in real life. maybe just the way the pas pump is mounted?
