Got a brand new T3 turbo and was told it's stage 2 T3. I just wondered what that means lol. I'm new to this turbo lark ya see. All I know is it has cut back blades for some reason help me please.

I have a suspicion that it has something to do with the size/volume of the housings or the inlet diameter...

Stage 2 could be anything. i could sell you a stage 2 modified turbo and all ive done is painted the housing.

Cut back blades allow for a quicker spool up, but dont read too much into it its nothing special.

Oh. He said it would give a bit more turbo chatter with the cut back blades. Couldn't give a monkeys tbh. :'(

Turbo chatter dosnt exist.

Wastegate stall is the correct term.

I always thought it was wastegate chatter that was the myth. Isn't it where any un-expelled exhaust gasses pass back through the turbo blades which makes the chatter noise. Hence turbo chatter? This will make for an interesting thread me reckons lol

no, but if you dont you get compressor stall. where else will the excess compressed air go to if there isnt a dump/recirc valve?

My point was if you dont have a BOV you can still get turbo chatter. You don't need to have a 'fucked' BOV to make the noise as previously mentioned.
