It is great to do and also to watch, but obvioulsy highly illegal!
With the police clamping down more and more on cruises etc is becoming more popular

sorry didnt wanna put a downer on the post, i wouldnt personally tak epart in a pre planned race, its different when u have a nova boy wanting a race on the bypass etc.
I think people take too much of a risk when racing, people dont think about consequences when caught up in the adrenaline!

It depends whether ur on about racing a saxo or nova at the lights or properly racing around the streets. I think most of us have raced at the lights before. It all depends on the conditions, time of day, and town or city. Milton Keynes is all dual carriageways and roundabouts so racing, i think, is safer than if u were to race around a town centre.

I think its a bad idea, proper street racing anyway. Like people have said everyone at some time races off the light, I do it a fair bit, but I dont race at high speed through corners and stuff like that.
Near where I live there is a long ring road round Sutton, its single lane mostly but at the lights it goes into 2, so you can have a decent race, and you know who has won by who gets in front when it goes back to one lane, the race ends there and then, no risk of it going too far.

Yes racing in a 1.2 8v.
I know its laughable.
But I have still had some good races, gave a 1.8 Pug 406 estate a run for its money, the bloke looked worried. Beat a fair few 1.1 saxo's and pugs, took some other corsa's on.........won a fair few, only been beaten by the 406 estate to my memory.
