But as someone stated in the comments, the towing company could have just told him to GTF as they can refuse to take his lmoney.

it was for some alloys he agreed to sell me for £100 off a car he'd bought to split. then when i was half way through fitting them he decided he wanted £150 so i said yeah but might not be able to give it him all on payday (friday just gone) because i was only ever planning on £100. last weekend hes offering to lend me or anyone else money who needs it (trying to play the big man) and i dropped off £100 at his house on friday and he started leaving me voicemails saying things like "we seem to have a problem, i havent got all my money"

im the one who arranged a lift and drove the car back 200 miles in the first place for him!

Ah, there's always a story behind a story

Do it in £5 notes, just as annoying, but not as hardcore

Pity you cant do that in UK..

Under the Coinage Act 1971

20p pieces and 50p pieces are legal tender in amounts up to £10
5p pieces and 10p pieces are legal tender in amounts up to 5 pounds;
and 1p pieces and 2p pieces are legal tender in amounts only up to 20 pence.

Then they could potentially have a lawsuit or some other trouble? It is legal tender after all, pennies or no, it's legal tender according to the banks.

My dad pays his council tax in shrapnel to piss them off, I love the idea of it because all they do is fucking empty your bins.

I'm quite sure that pennies are legal tender and cannot be refused despite how many there are instead of notes or whatever...

It's tender, it's legal, it may piss people off, but if they want to be assholes, suck as parking fines, towing, council tax, pennies are the way forward
