my dad got it took out a while back due to rising costs, hes getting hd in living room and sky plus in my room, no sports or movies but every thing else because tbh we have loads of dvds etc and if i ever watch football i go to the pub, a mates or the match(quite often as i enjoy the crack) as i dont like watching alone and im the only sports fan in the house.

20 quid a month each and hes paying the boxes, im happy as i love animal planet etc as im pretty sad

Sky HD is good for 3 things...HD Movies, HD Football, and the odd HD documentary. Thats it.

If you dont have all 3 then its not worth the extra it costs.

plus all the other hd channels you get apart from sport or movies, like i say, my dad wants hd not me, it was me that wanted the sky in, the pack i was going to go for was to be 20.50 a month, my dad said can he get multiroom and just pay the extra ten, i said yes as i was getting it anyway, he then said he fancied hd as loves documenteries and watches a lot of bbc etc and that he would pay the extra ten pound a month for hd, hence why he pays 20 and so do i, he also said he would pay for the boxes, a total of 150 and its free set up because of the hd, saving me the 50 for the +box and 30 set up...............................so im not complaining

No point in HD without Sports or Movies. Sky plus is just as good.

I wish Sky just did a football package. I'd happily pay for just Sky Sports tbh. Not interested in the dozens of wank music channels. Or films that I've already seen.

Thats the minimum package that includes Sports I think. So it comes with all the other bollocks I dont want. I'd pay £10 for just the 5 Sky Sports channels

Dont get me wrong, some of the HD docs are great, but those alone are not worth the extra money.

Only the football and the odd film make it worth it imo.

cosmo - yea i see your point but tbh its not like hes paying extra for it as hes just paying the same as a subscription would be for him to get what he wants, can the hd box record longer?

ssn is not included with the sports package, which seems really stupid..

in fairness there is sky1 HD, which gets some good stuff, but the simpsons seems to go small screen :-S
