For my dad? Hes looking to change his 2006 A4 Avant soon for something newer.
Ive caught him looking at BMW 320d M-sports.
Is there anything better he could have?
Ive been showing him those Vectra VXR estates but he says is needs to be diesel even though he only does 10k a year

I think he's looking at 6 month old so under 25k. I think you can get a 58/09 Msport for 23k or something!!

Just spoke to him again & he says it needs to be diesel & faster than his mates new civic TypeR
Crazy!!
I guess were maybe looking at a 330 touring then.
Is there any HOT Passat estates out? R model or that?

That A4 looks seriously nice, they do a Passat R36( I think it is?) that could be worth a look if he doesn't mind a petrol.

A4's are nice but I think he wants to try something different now as hes had his for 3.5yrs and the new models not much different.
I think I could sway him towards a petrol again as this is his 1st derv & he doesnt think he's really benifited from it as much as he though...........I think he just likes the 500miles between fill ups
I wouldnt want him to buy a newish Mondeo ST as I think it would be worth buttons in a couple years.
I dont think he likes Jap cars much.
Any decent mercs for the money?

The A4s are nice but... I drove one the other week (avant aswell) and the 2.0TDI 143 engine is far too weedy for the weight of the thing.
Plus the transmission tunnel sticks in to the drivers side footwell so where you would normally rest your left foot you cant. You maybe get used to it. Rest of the car seems spot on.
Alfa 159 TI Estate would be porn. Lose a lot of money but porn all the same

Dad has an Audi 2.0 TDi 170ps A4 S-Line Special Edition (jesus that's a long name lol) and it's ace.
No pics of it But he treated himself to it with inheritance money so specced it to the max (think he only left 2 things off the options list or something lol) goes well and returns around 45 mpg driven carefully iirc.
Simialr to this: http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/1061917.htm but dark metallic grey, privacy glass and more spec lol.
