3 years i think? Then they are wiped off your license. I think you should tell the insurance company though or they may refuse to pay out if you have an accident.

They are only active for 3 years but will stay on your licence for 5. most insurance Co. dont mind bout the first 3 points as so many ppl now have at lest one speed related ofence against them.

The question is do you want to drive with insurance or not,
Telling them means if you need to claim you will be OK,
Not telling them means if you need to claim, and they find out you have three pionts (and they will) you will not be covered and liable to be personally sued if you cause a third party to hurt themselves or damage property, now that would be even more expensive....your choice though.

tell them. they wont increase your premium until you go for your next quote. most dont care about extra points. unless your young then its just an excuse for them to charge extra money. I got 5 points on my license for speeding last yera(im 20years old) and it made no difference to my policy when I renenewed with a different company.

ps if you dont tell them then they could revoke your insurance, if your in an accident on your own, nothing will come from it, but if your in an accident with a 3rd party, you'll likely get done for no insurance AS well as having to pay for there claim
