Right,
Mito is NEARLY here, when I get back off holiday dealer thinks it'll be a matter of days now.
When finances settle, to keep my spanners dirty I am thinking about buying a project, only something cheap and cheerful to keep me entertained and to learn some stuff - I have recently been working on Dan295's corsa and really enjoyed it (when he's not abusing me ).
So - cheap and cheerful - engine conversion stuff as well though:
Corsa: XE just has to be, corsa is where the heart lays as such, I miss my one (wish i'd never sold it tbh), love the look of them outside and inside is pretty good for a 10-15 year old car! I like the driving position as well but they are quite difficult to make them "handle" as well. Are XE's reliable?
106: Love Kirstys, for a 1.1 it's soo much fun and chuckable, outside looks the tits but the interiors a bit olf fashioned. Also, not soo hot on the offset, close-together pedals and the bowl-of-soup gearstick. Mine would have to be a 1.6 8v (VTR) or 16v conversion.
Your opinions?
Please don't ruin the thread, I want to see some good banter, no haters

it really depends what you are wanting it for. 106 is way better than corsa for handling etc. corsa is a corsa. vauxhall arent the fastest fwd cars in thuis country for nothing. xe is a cracking engine. costly to tune, but offer far more potential than the 106gti engine really.
budget job 106, long term corsa.

Warren that would be epic
Nic, I don't think i'd want to get lolpower out of it (like yours per-say), but i'd like to be able to strip it all down and do most of the workl myself, kinda a personal challenge. Proper stuck on this one you know

106, but then I'm biased, and when you say 1.6 8v are you talking about the xsi or the 8v s2 Rallye?

I find the saxo just as easy if not easier. Alot more space in the engine bay and it clips in and out
