Im just wondering if anyone can give me an in depth decription of what it would take to do a conversion on my 96 1.2 Barina?
Was thinking 1.6 to try and save my headers amongst other stuff, but unsure if they would fit/be suitable for the purpose. If not i guess i could go 1.4.
Also, is the C16XE out of the van the same as ones people use?

personaly go for the c16xe as it has slightly bigger inlet ports than a x16xe other than that mate i cant help you.. obvious bits are engine, gearbox, engine wiring loom, drive shafts, engine ecu & transponder wths kew and barel. engine mounts.. thats all i can think off

Thanks "Richardhhha".
Anything about exhaust manifolds? The headers i have were fairly expensive for what they are so id like to try and keep them as i mentioned in my previous post.
As for the van engine, Anyone?
If possible, do the engines out of the TK models fit into the SB range?

x18xe1 is a small block, all you need for the conversion is:
the block
ecu, transponder, key chip
engine loom
it will work with your current gearbox, driveshafts, the lot

"DaveyLC", the SB and TK are the models of Barina. Pretty sure the SB ran from 1994-2000. The TK is the current model which came after the XC series.
"Root", Is the X18XE1 an Astra motor?
Sounds a little too good to be true to be honest. Perhaps something i may look into though and only those parts required?

Ahh Ok
X18XE1 is an Astra / Vectra engine..
It is a very simple conversion.

actually you also need the downpipe from the astra then put it on a 1.6 exhaust (minus downpipe) and away you go
